Internet addiction and sleep quality among adolescents in a peri-urban setting in Nepal: A cross-sectional school-based survey

Background Excessive use of the internet among adolescents often led to later bedtimes and poor sleep quality. This study assessed relationship between addiction quality in a peri-urban setting Nepal. Method cross-sectional employed questionnaire survey 390 adolescent students recruited from two schools Kirtipur Municipality The Internet Addiction Test Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index were used assess respectively. association was analysed by logistic regression. Results One-fifth (21.5%) participants identified with borderline 13.3% possible addiction. Poor found 31% participants. significantly associated (OR = 1.85, p 0.022 for borderline, OR 3.98, <0.001 compared no addiction). Conclusion Adolescents more vulnerable suffer It is recommended that municipalities should aware on adverse effects excessive including findings have implications adolescents, parents, school authorities researchers.
